Usually it is famous, that wine is an inseperable part of the georgian life. The Georgians appreas the wine and have the ability to drink a lot of that beverage. The people of Georgia says that the wine has not the ability to take a hangover. A special intent has the Saperavi-wine for the Kachetiners, which suppopts the health and gives power with a very high content.

History:

An interesting fact at the beginning, in the world there are 4000 wine sorts- 500 of these belongs to Georgia. For experts Georgia is the birthplace of wine. Archiologists have averments that winegrowing was did 7000 years ago in Georgia. There were found wine growing areas in the western part of Georgia- Schulaveri. In a speech of Apollonius Rhodius it is written, that the Argonauts found vine grapes during searching the "Golden fleece" in the capital Kolchis. The WEINPOLIS is an organization founded 1999 in London and making exebitions yearly, starts with the Georgian stand traditionally. Since that it called the "bassinet of vine".

KAKHETIA is the heart land of the Georgian vine growing. 70% of the georgian wine and famous people are living in this western part of Georgia. The secodary important vine growing area is Racha-Lechkhumi, which is famous for its very special quality wine.

Grape varieties:

SAPERAVI
The autochtone grape variety Superavi is the queen of the red wine grapes. It comes from Kakhetia and sources a lot of fantastic and famous wines like Kvareli, Mukuzani, Kindzmarauli, and more. Superavi is an very special coöour and acerbity a very strong taste and a touch of cream with tannin structures. The taste remembers perfect cherries. The Superavi vines are very practicly to lager.

RKATSITELI
This is the premium white wine grape in Georgia. It comes from Kakhetia. This special mineral-full grape is famous for it very best white vines like Tsinandali, Vazisubani and Rkatsiteli. This wines all have a golden color and a special nice taste. In the body vine have a brilliant taste and feeling, full harmony.

ALEXANDROULI
This is an autochtone red wine grape, which grows in the KHVAnchkara- Tola- Chreballo area. Mostly this grape is famous for its vine "Khvanchkara". This grape brings you an elegant and slight taste with a tannin structure and fruit flavour.

 

TSOLIKAURI
This is the grape variety with a light golden colour. Thats taste remembers to honey and citrus flavour. The taste remembers to exotic fruits.

 

 

MZWANE
This is an autochtone grape sort. The grapes have a nice flavour and mostly are served in Cuvee style with th Rkatsiteli or Tsinandali vine. The Mnzwane grape grafetages the vine.
